How we begin

Currently accepting new clients

We will begin with an open conversation. I will ask what has brought you to therapy, and we will explore together what you are hoping for from the process. There is no agenda beyond that.

You are welcome to ask me anything, and I will give you an honest sense of how I work and whether I think I can help.

If at the end of that session it feels like therapy is not right for you, or that I am not the right person, I will do my best to help you think about what might be.

The first session carries no obligation to continue.

Common questions

Things people ask

It is a short, informal conversation — around 20 minutes, by phone or video, whichever you prefer. You can tell me a little about what has brought you here, and ask me anything you'd like about how I work. You don't need to explain everything, or have it clear in your own mind first. There is no cost and no expectation that you will book a session afterwards. If it turns out I am not the right person, I will happily suggest someone who might be.

When you arrive at Linen Hall, 162–168 Regent Street, simply go to reception and let them know you are here for your appointment with Kasha Malewska. The receptionist will direct you to the practice. There's a waiting room.

If you're unsure where to go, just get in touch and I'll guide you.

If something feels stuck, heavy, or unclear, and you sense that talking it through with someone might help, that's often enough of a reason to try. You don't need to be in crisis to come to therapy.

The thing that matters most is whether you feel able to be honest in the room. Training, qualifications and registration matter too, but they will not tell you that part.

It is entirely normal to speak to more than one therapist before deciding, and I would encourage it. An introductory call costs you nothing and gives you a sense of how someone works. If you speak to me and then choose someone else, that is a good outcome, not an awkward one.

That depends entirely on what you're bringing and what you want from the work. Some people find six to twelve sessions useful for a specific issue; others choose to work longer term. We would review this together as we go.

Weekly sessions are recommended, particularly at the start of therapy. Consistency helps build the kind of trust and continuity that makes the work possible.

Gestalt is an approach that invites awareness of what is happening in the present moment so that new choices can emerge. At its heart, it is interested in the whole person, not just the presenting problem.

Rather than focusing primarily on the past or on analysis, Gestalt works with what is alive right now. What are you feeling in your body as you speak? What do you notice yourself doing or avoiding? What is happening between us in this room? These present-moment observations often reveal far more than a reconstruction of history.

It is also deeply relational and somatic: how we meet each other in the room often mirrors how you meet the world, and the body is taken seriously throughout. If you are curious about whether Gestalt might suit you, I am happy to talk it through in an introductory call.

Yes — sessions run on Microsoft Teams, as well as in person in London. I will send you a link before each session. Many people find online therapy just as effective, and it can offer more flexibility.

My fee is £80 per 50-minute session. I also work on a sliding scale for people for whom the full fee would put therapy out of reach. Please raise it in the introductory call — it is a straightforward conversation and I would rather have it than lose you over cost.

If cost is the barrier rather than the inconvenience, I would point you to Hora Psychotherapy, a low-cost online service offering open-ended weekly therapy at £40 a session following a £26 assessment. It is online only and available across the UK.

Payment is due before each session. You can pay by bank transfer, by card through a secure online payment link, or in cash if you prefer. Details are arranged when we set up your first appointment.

Yes, on request. Some people need one for an employer or an insurer, and I am happy to provide it.

Once we agree a time, that slot is held for you for as long as we are working together. If you need to cancel, a week's notice means no charge; inside a week the session is charged in full, since the time cannot usually be offered to anyone else.

I take a few breaks across the year and give at least two weeks' notice; you are not charged for those. The same applies if you are going away, let me know two weeks ahead and there is no charge for what you miss.

Yes. Everything discussed in sessions is held in strict confidence, in line with the BACP Ethical Framework. The only exceptions are situations where there is serious risk of harm, which I would always aim to discuss with you directly wherever possible.

When you send an enquiry, I collect your name, contact details and whatever you choose to tell me about why you are getting in touch. I use this only to reply to you and, if we go on to work together, to arrange sessions. It is never shared, sold or used for marketing.

Enquiries sent through this website are processed and stored securely by Netlify, the platform hosting this site, acting as a data processor on my behalf. Email correspondence is held in my practice email account. Enquiries that do not lead to therapy are deleted within six months. For clients, I keep brief session notes, held securely and separately from your contact details, and retain them for seven years after our work ends, as my professional body and insurer require. Notes are kept to a minimum and identified by initials rather than full names.

Material from our work is discussed in regular clinical supervision, which is standard practice and part of working safely; your identity is not disclosed. You can ask at any time to see what I hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted where I am not required to keep it. Just email me. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
